Search the Lipidomics Gateway by keyword, or the databases by lipid class, common name, systematic name or synonym, InChIKey, LIPID MAPS ID, gene or protein term.

The quick lipid search tool will accept the following types of requests (search is case-insensitive and substrings are allowed for database searches):

• keywords and phrases. (Examples: cholesterol, protein kinase. Greek characters should be spelled out.)
• Lipid LM_ID identifiers. (Examples: LMFA03010001, LMFA01010012, LMGP01030006, LMST01010016, LMSP0601AJ00).
• Lipid molecular formula. (Examples: C12H24O2, C18H37NO2).
• Lipid classification category/main class/subclass names and synonyms. (Examples: Fatty alcohols, wax esters, plasmalogens, phosphatidlyserines, sphingolipids,bile acids,sesquiterpenes).
• Common Name, Systematic Name and Synonym fields in the lipid structure database. (Examples: palmitic acid, 9Z-hexadecenoic acid, PGE2, lanosterol, PAF, PC(16:0/18:0), GM3, estradiol, Vitamin E, hopane).
• Name and LM_ID fields in the lipid standards database. (Examples: LMFA03010001, cholesterol,PC(16:0/18:0),PGE).
• SwissProt accession ID (e.g. Q01469), Gene symbol (e.g. Fabp), Protein entry name (e.g. FABPL_MOUSE), Entrez and SwissProt annotations (e.g.glycerol kinase) in the LIPID MAPS lipid-related gene and protein database.
• InChIKey identifier (Example: BHQCQFFYRZLCQQ-OELDTZBJSA-N).
